Welcome to

Be Disciples. Make Disciples.

About Cumberland

Cumberland Church is a community campus of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, planted to reach the Cumberland Estates community. We hold Scripture as the standard by which we measure all other things, and subscribe to the theology of the Baptist Faith and Message (BF&M) 2000. What we do and who we are as a church family can be summed up in three statements:

Our Mission Statement:  "Be Disciples. Make Disciples."

Our Purpose Statement: "Love God. Love Community. Love World."

Our Vision Statement: "To Knoxville and the Nations."

Love God. Love Community. Love World.

To Knoxville and the Nations

Our vision is to see the Gospel preached in Knoxville and all the nations (or people groups) of the earth. We  seek to achieve this vision in two ways: We can serve, and we can give.

We serve because of the call we are given and the example set for us by Christ Himself:

When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.

John 13:12-14

Because of this, we create opportunities to serve, and encourage our local church family to get involved in acts of service that show the community around us the love of Christ and His people.

We give not only because of the biblical call to tithe, but because we put our money where our mission is.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:21

We give even when we cannot go, so that we can see God's work done in Knoxville and the Nations.
